چکیده
By extending a mechanistic model for the tick-borne pathogen systemic transmission with consideration of seasonal climate impacts, host movement as well co-feeding route, this paper proposes novel modeling framework describing spatial dynamics diseases. The net reproduction number tick growth and basic disease are derived, which predict global population transmission. Numerical simulations not only verify analytical results, but also characterize contribution route on prevalence in habitat effect spreading pathogen.

Modeling tick-borne disease: a metapopulation model.
Recent increases in reported outbreaks of tick-borne diseases have led to increased interest in understanding and controlling epidemics involving these transmission vectors. Mathematical disease models typically assume constant population size and spatial homogeneity. For tick-borne diseases, these assumptions are not always valid. The disease model presented here incorporates non-constant popu...
متن کاملGlobal stability of equilibria in a tick-borne disease model.
In this short note we establish global stability results for a four- dimensional nonlinear system that was developed in modeling a tick-borne disease by H.D. Gaff and L.J. Gross (Bull. Math. Biol., 69 (2007), 265-288) where local stability results were obtained. These results provide the parameter ranges for controlling long-term population and disease dynamics.
متن کاملA young woman with multiple hypopigmented patches
A 33–year-old woman was visited at the dermatological clinic of Loghman-e-Hakim Hospital with multiple hypopigmented patches on her right arm, buttocks and flanks. Her lesions developed over the past year with no regression. Lesions were resistant to multiple antifungal therapies. Clinical examination revealed multiple circular or oval patches on the right arm, flank and sacral area. There was ...
متن کاملCanine tick-borne pathogens in Cyprus and a unique canine case of multiple co-infections
Canine tick-borne pathogens such as Ehrlichia canis and Hepatozoon canis are widespread in the Mediterranean basin but have never been reported or investigated in Cyprus. We describe herein the presence of canine tick-borne pathogens in three dogs with clinical signs compatible with vector-borne diseases from Paphos area of Cyprus. Molecular and phylogenetic analysis revealed the presence of E....
متن کاملLyme disease-a tick-borne spirochetosis?
A treponema-like spirochete was detected in and isolated from adult Ixodes dammini, the incriminated tick vector of Lyme disease. Causally related to the spirochetes may be long-lasting cutaneous lesions that appeared on New Zealand White rabbits 10 to 12 weeks after infected ticks fed on them. Samples of serum from patients with Lyme disease were shown by indirect immunofluorescence to contain...
